YOUR INTUITION

A NEGLECTED SIXTH SENSE

What if the most powerful guidance you possess isn’t something you learn, but something you already have?

We’ve all felt that strange gut feeling, a subtle inner nudge, or a whisper that says “yes” or “no” before your brain has even caught up. It's that sense that steers you away from danger or nudges you toward the right path. But all too often, we ignore it.

In today's fast-paced, logic-driven world, we're taught to rely on facts and dismiss what we can’t quantify. But what if that very conditioning is causing us to overlook our most potent personal guide, our intuition?

The Whisper You Ignore

Have you ever felt uneasy before making a decision, only to later discover your instincts were spot on? That’s no coincidence.

Science tells us our brain constantly processes far more information than we consciously realise. These insights manifest as feelings, physical sensations, and flashes of knowing what we call intuition. Yet, most of us have been trained to trust reason over inner wisdom.

But growing up with my mother, the remarkable White Witch Kerry Kulkens™, I was taught differently.

She always said, “Your intuition is your spirit’s voice, soft but clear, and always worth listening to.”

Intuition: More Than a Hunch

Let’s be clear, intuition isn’t panic, fear, or wishful thinking. It’s a calm certainty. When something resonates intuitively, there’s a deep inner “yes,” even if the logic isn’t quite there yet.

I’ve worked with countless clients who avoided disaster or seized unexpected opportunities by following their instincts. One woman changed her flight at the last minute due to a strange feeling, only to learn later that there were mechanical issues with the original plane. Another man left his job without a plan, simply because it felt wrong, and was soon offered a role beyond his wildest dreams.

Your intuition is a gift. But like any gift, it must be nurtured.

Rewiring for Intuitive Living

So how do you tap into it?

  • Create quiet. Intuition needs space. Mindfulness, meditation, or even a walk in nature can clear the clutter.

  • Journal. Mum always kept a journal of dreams, feelings, and nudges. Often, what seemed random at the time later turned out to make perfect sense.

  • Validate your instincts. Start noting intuitive hits that proved accurate, and it builds trust.

Observe your body. Your intuition often speaks through physical sensations, such as a tight chest, relaxed shoulders, and tingling skin.

A woman with closed eyes, hands clasped, and quote:

The Power of Trusting Your Gut

Aligning with your intuition changes everything.

Take Jill, a nurse who came to me burned out and anxious. Her body was screaming at her, but her logic said, “Stay for the pension.” Eventually, she listened to her gut and left nursing to become an art therapist. Her health improved, and joy returned. That’s what happens when we trust our soul’s compass.

Cultivating Your Sixth Sense

You don’t have to be psychic to develop intuition. It’s both a spiritual and a practical sense.

Here’s how to strengthen it daily:

  • Ask yourself, “What feels right?” before decisions.

  • Pay attention to signs, dreams, and synchronicities.

  • Honour small, intuitive moments as they lead to bigger ones.

  • Surround yourself with people and environments that support your inner growth.

Final Thoughts

We’ve been conditioned to doubt what can’t be measured. But in doing so, we often silence the most sacred part of ourselves. Your intuition is not a superstition it’s your soul speaking.

As Mum always told me, “The world is noisy, but your truth speaks in stillness. Listen there.”

When you reclaim this neglected sixth sense, life becomes clearer, choices feel lighter, and you align with who you truly are.

Your intuition is your superpower. Start listening today.
